Windows Stopped Asking For My Password

I apologize in advance if this question was already answered somewhere else. I did search the forum for an answer to this issue before starting this thread.

I am running Windows 7 Starter on a Dell Inspirion Mini. I have set the Power Options to require my password when the computer wakes up, but for some reason Windows is not asking for my password when waking up or coming out of hibernation.

I changed my password just to see if maybe that would help, it didn't. Any suggestions on other settings I might want to check? The PC just started doing this, I've had it for 2-3 years.

    Thank you.

Interesting. I would try jogging the settings by turning off the password requirement, rebooting, then turning it back on. You could create a new power profile also, in case the existing one is corrupt. More radical would be to create a new user account, and then there's a partial or full system reset.

I switched the settings to not require a password on wake up, restarted the PC and then switched it back to requiring a password on wake up, that worked! Thanks a bunch for your help =)

Awesome. Sometimes, like us, puters need a little jog! :)
