New Sager Laptop, Want No Bloatware

Hey all i got the sager laptop and it looks pretty good. I had an asus u45jc-a1 but the laptop had lot of problems from being very slow and bloatware and many other issues. Laptop also was i3 so a bit slow and wanted an i7 quad core and this sager is i7 quad core. Its windows 7 home premium 64 bit and xoticpc installed it for me.

When i first started the laptop, it gave me option for windows update which is recommended, something else or ask me later. I chosed recommended is that fine? I wasn't sure to put that or ask me later as i was kinda worried recommended might make my computer lag a bit.

Also, the computer at the moment seems fast. But how can i tell if i have any bloatware or any processes that i don't want so this laptop doesn't lag later on? I do see theres a few programs there when i click on uninstall programs that are like bison camera and intel pro etc. Am i suppose to leave them there or just remove them.

Do you need me to list all the programs. I want to make sure theres no bloatware on this new sager laptop of mine. Currently using my old asus laptop still at the moment while typing this.

Someone recommended me first to get an antivirus software. I used microsoft essentials with old asus laptop. Do you suggest that or something else or paying for those virus programs? Someone had suggested me use panda antivirus and its free and better than microsoft essentials. Thoughts on that? What about avast antivirus? I used it last time on asus laptop but then used microsoft essentials.

    Hi,
See the link above my signature to remove Junkware for the best way to deal with it until your warrantee expires then you can do a clean install and get rid of All non Microsoft utilities,
Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

    Security suite :/
Well MSE is okay if your intending to also use MBAM Premium= Malwarebytes as well there are still some lifetime licenses available which is a one time payment that does not renew costs 40-50.00 u.s. up front but these buggers are going like hotcakes so hit Amazon/ Newegg soon before they're all gone

Panda is good too but MBAM is also recommended for which ever you decide to use,
    Cheers.

Hey. Well i had the option to purchase windows 7 either from xoticpc thus them installing it for me or me buying my own copy. I figure if they install it for me, i wouldn't need to reinstall it.

From looking at the program files, it doesnt seem to be much there but the thing is i dont know if startup processes or other things could make it slower which is why i ask this. So you still suggest me to do clean install when they installed it for me? Thing is someone said most likely its doesnt have muh bloatware b/c its a sager and they dont come with much bloatware compared to say dell or asus which are the laptops i use to hve and always lagged.

So if i get malwarebytes the one time payment, that means i will not have to use any other antivirus or similar software anymore? Thus no microsoft essentials, no panda and no avast or spybot? The main ones i used were essentials and spypot. Previously i used avast.

Did they provide you with a COA sticker showing you were sold Genuine WIn7, as is required by law? If not contact them immediately to ask why. It should have a Product Key on it for you to backup now so it can be used at any time in the life of the machine to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Perhaps to start though you'd like to see how it works to only Clean Up Factory Bloatware. Start with a Clean Boot with only your AV to see how it feels. Nothing else needs to start with Win7 no matter how they try to convince you to let them spy on you.

Keep in mind that Win7 should be instantaneous on adequate hardware and never hang or bog. This is the standard to judge by.

I really like Panda free AV as it is more aggressive than MSE and even MBAM but doesn't slow the PC at all. Then you only need the MBAM scanner and perhaps the excellent SuperAntiSpyware for on-demand scanning. I only recommend buying MBAM if you're regularly infected. But I think Panda as well as smart browsing may preclude that.

My experience with my Sager laptop from Xotic PC purchased sometime back supports your feeling that there is minimal bloatware installed. The programs you mentioned are likely related to hardware features, such as the web camera, fingerprint reader, etc. I didn't feel the need for a new reinstall, but that is your choice, of course. BTW, there are some very helpful message boards for specific models at Xotic PC Laptops Discussion

Lets see what's loading with windows
Click Start and type in the search box,
    msconfig
Click on the suggestion on top or hit the Enter key,
Go to the Startup section and take some screen shots for a complete list,
Go to the Services section and on the bottom left Check the box to Hide All Microsoft services,
    Repeat the screen shots,
See the links above my signature on how to take and upload screen shots here,

No you still need an antivirus program free one is fine and mandatory if you purchase mbam premium or not,
    Cheers.
