Also, make sure you have the latest Killer e-2200 ethernet driver installed (see HERE)

Try the test per greg's instruction to see how your system performs with nVidia disabled.

You can also give this a try with nVidia enabled. I found THIS thread an interesting read.
> Uninstall the current nVidia driver from CtlPnl->Programs and Features
> Run Double Driver and look for the display drivers. (Click the Class column to sort by class. Then check for any entries where Class=Display) Verify there's no nVidia driver listed
> Fall back to nVidia v337.88 driver.

install the latest Intel chipset drivers as well (use the Intel Update Tool)

Have used both the older version (from iBUYPOWER site) and the new one from that page. No difference. Have used the lastest NVidia driver, as well as rolled back to 337.88. No difference. Are there any other tests you'd like me to run?

I'm so sorry. At this point I'm stumped. Don't know if anyone else might still have some ideas.

I'm sure your goal is to have a gaming computer that actually let's you play games. Seeing the number of others who;ve posted online with the same freeze (or even BSODs) with that hardware, my only other thought is you might try posting in both the nVidia and iBuypower support sites (if iBuypower has its own forum)

Might be a better chance of running across someone with that same hardware that actually found a solution. Or could share thier common experience/information with you (Any chance it's still under any warranty???)

Sorry. But please do post back to let us know should you ever find a solution

p.s.

Please forgive the double post, but i know you're online now as i am, so just want to make sure you saw this.

fyi... Given that there are both Win 7 and Win 8 drivers on their site, i did wonder if Win 8 might avoid the problem. I didn't search much but I did add Windows 8 into my search terms, and it still seemed to come up with hits on Win 8 users reporting the same problem

I'm sure you're pissed. I know I would be if i were in your shoes!!
