Windows 7 bugs Windows 7 has a TON OF BUGS they need to work out. For example, almost all of the everyday things that I like to download, like Java, will not work on here. Microsoft needs to develope a lot of patches that will make my Vista software and hardware work on Windows 7.

Brink is absolutely correct.
About your Java issue, instead of installing it online, download the installer package and install it offline then update. That usually does the trick | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Build OS Windows 7 Build 7048 x64 CPU Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ Motherboard EMX-AMD750G-PRO Memory 4 x 1GB Kingston 400MHz 6-6-6-18 (800MHz) Graphics Card ATI Radeon 3650 Sound Card Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays 22" AOC 2216Vw Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Generic Enhanced Natural Keyboard Mouse Logitech VX Nano Cooling Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro PWM Other Info Edifier M1550 |

Sorry, but it's the same old story again. We hear this time and time again. Microsoft develops and writes the OS. They invite hardware manufacturers to write drivers for their products - some do, and some don't. The same thing goes for software developers. It is up to them whether or not they support a new OS, although, undoubtedly, it is in their best interest to do so. Let's face it, some still only just support XP, let alone Vista. Those are hardly likely to make the move to support Windows 7. In a lot of cases, though, the support is there but is extremely well hidden. Companies would rather you buy a new product, be it hardware and/or software. Afterall, they would rather make money.
I agree that Windows 7 has some bugs, although compared with Vista at the same stage not many. In fact, I have only come across a couple - intermittent font rendering problems in IE8 and WEI misreporting the graphics driver version. There is also the lack of a working E-mail client, although this is more of an annoyance than a bug. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built, N/A OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit & 64-bit both SP1 CPU AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 7550 @2.5GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA770-ES3 Memory 2 x 2GB PC2-6400 (DDR2-800), Ganged Mode, (4GB total) Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB Sound Card Realtek High Definition on board solution (ALC 892) Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VA1912w Widescreen (VGA) Screen Resolution 1440x900 Keyboard Microsoft Digital Media Pro Keyboard (USB) Mouse Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 (USB) PSU XFX Pro Series 850W Semi-Modular Case Antec NSK 4000B II Cooling 1 x 80mm Front Inlet (with filter) 1 x 120mm Rear Exhaust Hard Drives OCZ Petrol SSD 64GB SATA III

I dont have 'ANYWHERE' near the problems I had with Vista Beta.
The only issues I have, besides driver support, are:
1: occasionally the startmenu will be blank, or discolored and messed up
2: after a windows explorer crash, windows explorer fails to start again
3: scroll bar on touchpad doesnt work after going to sleep mode | My System Specs | | |

Use the feedback system as the others suggested, and keep in mind how long you've been using the OS, its been less then a month since it's been released for public use. Personally, I've had no bug issues other then the odd one, less then I even had with Windows XP sp3, and thats something! But again, thats my experience...
If you have specific problems this is the place to be, post your problem and the kind folks around here will most gladly help you out, and there are very few problems we can't deal with. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number myself OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0ghz Wolfdale Motherboard ASUS P5Q Pro ATX LGA775 Memory OCZ Gold XTC PC2-6400 4GB Graphics Card BFG Geforce 8800GT OC Sound Card onboard (HD) Monitor(s) Displays HP w2207h Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech Mouse Ocz equalizer PSU Antec Earthwatts 500w Case Antec Sonata III Cooling Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev 2 Passive VGA Cooler Hard Drives Western Digital Caviar SE16 640GB Internet Speed 750+ |

#9 | | Windows 7 (7000) public beta |
creating new folder I have posted my feedback to MS ...
When I create a new folder ... suppose I want to download something from Firefox .. I click 'new', then name it .. and then click to open it..
It jump to another folder and opens in that!
Then I have to navigate and find my new named folder and open that.
----------------
So I have a folder with sub-folders named..
cat
dog
mouse
and I make a 'new' folder and name it herbs - and click to open it.
It will open dog..
And then I have to find herbs and open that! Anyone else have that problem?
I am using the public beta 7000. Just wondering if it had been fixed. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Built myself OS Windows 7 (7000) public beta CPU E2180 2 GHz over clocked to 3 Ghz Motherboard Asus P5KPL-CM (crash free BIOS) (Stable over clocker) Memory 4 GB Hynix 2Gb 800MHz DDR2 Graphics Card Asus EAH3450-HTP-512 RADEON Sound Card Onboard VY 1708B, 8-CH High-Definition Audio Codex Monitor(s) Displays AOC 22" panel 1680x1050 (Certified for Windows Vista :-) Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech black deluxe 250 DT PS2 (US layout - Vista) Mouse Gigabyte GM-M6800 optical mouse (No game, like comfort grip) PSU 450 watt in case standard Case MCG Deluxe Miditower Case - 450W Black (2 front side USB) Cooling Stock box Intel heat sink & fan - & CPU paste Hard Drives Samsung 160Gb 7200RPM 8Mb Cache SATA2 Internet Speed Vodafone Wireless B/Band Australia - official 1500 up & down Other Info USB ReadyBoost 4 GB SanDisk (I don't know if these help or not - all quiet as to if it's used in Windows 7.) |
