So, what's calling the wake up timer?

The interesting question that i am left with is what is calling the wake up timer (activeringstimer).
Where does windows keep its logs?
I've gone into task scheduler but it only shows a history per task and appears to lack a listing of the activated task history or a proper search function.
I noticed the windows media center icon flash in my taskbar for a sec after the pc came out of hibernation but i'm pretty sure i never set it up. I tend to stay away from windows media player because of my really bad experience with wmp 8 through to 11. My other suspect is the sidebar. Maybe unrelated but it has just crashed after disabling the wake-up timer.

    Hello,

You can use STEP FOUR in the tutorial below right after the computer wakes up like this to see what did it.

Double check to make sure that this Power Plan setting below is set this way as well.

    Awesome tutorial

    Thanks Brink.

I found my network card and a hid-compliant mouse device. I will test with logging and the wake-up timer back on in the advanced energy settings and with the networkcard unplugged to see what will happen.
