Personalizing windows 7 - only option for windows colour is 'basic'

Thanks for your help. I have attached a print screen of my problem, next to the 'desktop background' option, there is only a windows colour basic option, I can't make windows transparent like I'm pretty sure I've had before, or change the colour... etc.

You need to select an Aero theme (underneath your applied theme) to enable transparency via Aero.
