Boot time increased significantly after installing new AMD drivers

I used an SSD on my laptop boot time has been about 20-25 seconds since I installed it. Today I got a message from Raptr saying there are new AMD drivers for my video card (Radeon HD 6700m series). After installation of the drivers, boot time is now about 2+ minutes. The issue is with the Window 7 welcome screen...it now "freezes". The spinning circle on the welcome screen will freeze for about 2 minutes until it logs in. Again, this has never happened before until today, immediately after installing the Catalyst 14.9 drivers.

Anyone know of a solution to this issue?
Thanks!

Roll back to previous driver in Device Manager on Display drivers' Driver tab.

Turn off everything in msconfig>Startup and >Services after Hiding all MS Services, except for AV. These "updaters" are mostly spyware and not needed in a Driver Complete OS. The exception is Flash Player which is best kept current for performance and security reasons.

Easiest may be to roll back to the restore point from before that driver was installed.

Video drivers have always been a "source of woe" for me (NVidia and ATI).

Thank you!

I usually have most services disabled, but disabling EVERY service (after hiding MS services) fixed the problem.

I appreciate your help

Make sure your AV is starting. I would use a free lightweight recommended AV like MSE or Panda Cloud.
