My windows search function brings 0 results

Hey there seven forums, when i try to search something in the windows menu (I hit the windows button and type something) the only results it brings up is Control Panel. Nothing else.

I did some messing around in the indexing options to try and fix it, and i might of messed it up even more, here is what it looks like now. Can any of you help me?



EDIT: Whenever i hit enter in that bar when i get this error message

I thought i would bump this as it went to the bottom. I googled it and nothing helps me, and this is extremely annoying.

Whenever you hit ENTER in what bar ? The search bar?

Rebuild the Index - Rebuild - Windows 7 Forums

Make sure you have only the locations you want using the Modify button. I include User folders minus AppData, external hard drives plugged in to add each one's location so they will be included when plugged in.

I rebuilt the index with the same list of stuff as in the screenshot i posted in my first post. Still nothing.

Let's check for infection and System file corruption as you want to know that anyway. First install, decline trial, update and run a full scan with Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware .

Check in Browser Add-On's on all tabs for any invaders like uninvited Search services. Same for Programs and Features.

If this fails to find anything serious which may need more targeted cleanup, then run SFC /SCANNOW Command.

If these all fail at least you know your system is clean. Next I would turn off the Search service, reboot and then turn it back on. This is the same as reinstalling it and may require Rebuild Index again: Windows Search - Turn On or Off - Windows 7 Help Forums

I tried all of the above and its still not working...

What did SFC find?

Are you running a Clean Boot? Steps in Troubleshooting tutorial below.

What AV? Try replacing with MSE to test difference.

"1. Type "msconfig" in Start Search box," Can't really do this due to the box not working.

Currently running MSE right now.
