Computer COMPLETELY freezes!

Hi there people, don't know if this is the right section of the forum for this thread. But since i've got no idea what the hell is happening, i figured this should do it. My computer completely stops! It freezes and nothing works. My mouse don't work i can't even turn my NUM LOCK on/off. Also i hear a strange noise (not in the cpu, but in my headphones) after that happens. The only thing i can do is turn off my computer. But one thing i've noticed is that after this happens, when i try to turn my pc on again, it doesn't make that *bip* from the boot. So i have to turn it off and on again, and when it boots for the first time, after this event, it freezes again while booting... So i turn it off/on again, and it works ok. At least for a while

Please guys, i need help! My specs are: Asus P8H61, I5-2300, Radeon HD 5670, 2x4gb Kingstom. Sorry for bad english

I would start with the basics and check your temperatures to see if anything is overheating using software like speccy for example https://www.piriform.com/speccy
You could also try safemode to see if the problem still exists, if it doesn't then it is likely a software issue then you could try a clean startup which will exclude all unnecessary startup items

Hello Pauly! I'm using HWmonitor to check my temperatures. I've attached a print screen of the temps. Today i've tried turning my pc on, and i didn't hear a "bip", which indicates the pc boot (i think). I've experienced some high temps. from my cpu this month. But it was only when i was logging into my league of legends account. Do you think could be a HD related problem?

I wouldn't think so but anything is possible with computers my friend

Personally I would keep that page active and continue normal use and monitor temps and you play your game, if they rise to fast or go to high I would investigate further but as you say you have already noticed high temps from cpu I would play it safe and address that issue now anyway
CPU heatsinks can get very clogged with dust so may be time for a clean if that doesn't help then you can try reapplying thermal paste
Also check your gfx temps and ensure all fans are spinning and operate freely, I always open up my machine and clean out dust etc 1-2 times a year minimum its amazing how quickly dust can accumulate in PCs

I've attached another print screen from the temps, just to show you what happens when i log into the game. The reason why i think it was the HD is because it won't boot after this problem happens. I need to turn it off/on quite a few times for it to boot. In League of Legends my temp is aout 70ºC. Since i've noticed i've started to monitor the temp. more frequently. I'll keep track of my temp., but in the meantime is there any test i can do to figure this thing out? Thank you for your help :)

The reason I figured that it may be temps is because it will not reboot straight away, several reboots = cooling down ??

The clean startup may be worth a try but if it is temps it wont help, its up to you

Work through the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 which will uncover most problems.

If the problem only began recently then you can also try System Restore as far back as possible to see if it goes away.

I use Core Temp to keep the temps in System tray where they are color coded to warn of overheating based on maximum suggested temp.

If heating isn't the cause then try running with a boot disk like https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...cy-backup.html with the HD unplugged to see if you can confirm it's not the HD or OS causing the problem. If so then it's definitely other hardware.

If problem doesn' t occur while operating from boot disk, test the HD with the maker's
Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure extended CD scan, followed by a full Disk Check.

If HD tests OK then I'd try the perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 making sure to stick with the steps in the tutorial, test performance after each step to try to narrow down the driver, program or change you're making that might have caused this.
