Task Scheduler

I have seen programs that provide missed run notification when the program is activated. However, these features are seldom available on FREE program versions.
If you use the Task Scheduler, you can set it to run operations even if the original run time was missed.

Thanks Gandalf and lehnerus2000

The system with Panda is not on 24/7
It's a multi-boot PC so it could be days or weeks between times that OS is booted.
Also, I use auto sleep, so if it's idle for 30 minutes it goes to sleep.
I don't want it to wake up to run a scan.

Next time I'm on that system I might try changing the task in Task Scheduler so it runs if a scheduled start is missed.

WARNING
It seems there are some bugs in Panda free.
From what I found changing the task in Task Scheduler could break the Panda UI task scheduler.
Here are a couple of Panda support threads about this:
Scheduled Scan(s) question
Schedule scan Exclusions feature broken

Panda works great on my Windows 7 Laptops. It doesn't work so well on the Windows 8.1 desktop. The scan will pause automatically and will not resume. I have to pause it manually and resume it manually to continue the scan. This happens all throughout the scan process. The 8.1 desktop is in the shop right now as we speak.

So, that's my views on Panda with Windows 7 which are good.

Now, when I get my 8.1 desktop back and Panda still does not scan right. What antivirus does any one recommend for 8.1?

What's wrong with built-in Defender, renamed from Microsoft Security Essentials in Windows 8?

Hmm...I do not have any issues with scheduled scans in panda free.

My scheduled scans will always run if they are missed too.

I now no longer use scheduled scans, as I found they slowed me down when I was working. (because I have multiple products)

So now I do everything manually in a scheduled time when I decide to do it.

Perhaps try this:

Panda - Uninstall Completely

Then reinstall and see what happens?

I don't use them either. It happens when I do a manual scan.

I like seeing an antivirus logo in my notification center. Windows Defender doesn't have that.

This is my top complaint about windows defender as well. You would have no idea if it was turned off, I know action center is supposed to tell you when it gets turned off or disabled, but it does not seem to always work. Infections can also easily disable windows defender.

Yes, I've also heard it isn't as good as people say it is. Does anyone know of a good antivirus besides Panda for Windows 8 and 8.1?

Cannot paste to any library folders
I find this to be so lame! I don't exactly get why libraries are so useful, but for whatever reason, they appear to be what MS wants me to use when working with folders because it's a heckuva lot easier to navigate my library folders in the left-side Windows Explorer navigation pane than it is to...
