PC is taking forever to shut down and log off

The last few days my PC has been taking a very long time to shut down and log off.

And now it wont shut down at all.

I ran Malwarebytes and avast in safe mode and everything seems fine.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try using clean boot to determine the cause
Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup
Go into clean boot. If the computer works, put several services back at each boot to determine the cause.

I just had to update to MBAM 2.0.1 because my last installation of MBAM got corrupted somehow. Doing my weekly scan has turned into something hilarious. What used to take four hours with the old MBAM is now on its 23rd hour, and it's still only checking filesystem objects. It still hasn't done...

Restore taking forever

I got this HP G60-508US notebook for my son for Christmas, and now we're having problems with how slow it's running. I'm pretty well versed in keeping our home computer in top shape, but this laptop is driving me nuts! It's not like we've loaded up the C drive with crap either. I decided to go...
