Faint letter

Could someone tell me why all of a sudden, when I either read or type the lower case letter 'f' it appears faint in comparison with other letters. It didn't used to be like that.

Hi welcome to seven forum

thats a strainge issue. maybe try a restore point before the issue started. can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing? this might sound unreasonable but try another monitor to test.

Thank you for your advice on this matter. I actually had a notification to say that my microsoft office was corrupt and after repairing it. The problem is now solved.
I was all prepared to fork out for a new laptop, no need now.

So far I'm pretty happy with Win 7, but one new feature is downright painful for me. In the Details view of Windows Explorer, the column headers and all columns except "Name" are displayed in a faint gray-on-white text. My eyes are unusually sensitive to low contrast, and they start to ache after...
