    import pictures wizard disappeared

    After window updates installed themselves today, the "Import pictures and videos" wizard is gone. Now when I plug in the camera I get a screen that says "no tasks are available on this page", the header is: Control panel - all control panel items - devices and printers - finepixAx200. Any ideas where it went or how to get it back? I prefer using this wizard because I can name the files and know where they will go.

    Try this:
    Change settings for importing pictures and videos

    If not, try the following

    Open Command Prompt as Adminstrator Elevated Command Prompt

    type: cd "C:\Program Files\Windows Photo Viewer"

    Execute these commands (type them and press enter)
    regsrv32 PhotoViewer.dll
    regsvr32 PhotoAcq.dll

    Restart PC (or log off/on)

    The latest round of windows updates had a bad update included causing many problems for many people
    This update has since been pulled by MS
    I recommend you use system restore to revert to before the latest round of updates which should restore full functionality and then you can run updates again and will not receive the bad update
