MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer

For several weeks now I have been getting the above message whenever I turn my computer on. I've searched this forum and found many posting about this. Most say this is a very old thread and maybe I should start a new one. There is now an Adobe pasted graphic I can't view. I tried some of the previous suggested solutions with out any luck. When I Google this problem all of the solutions seem to involve buying something. I don't know how this problem came to be but I would like to solve it. This is my first post and I don't know if I have posted it in the right place.
Also I have tried to edit my profile here but I can't.

    Great!

Can you now view the Adobe file you mentioned in your first post?

I can view part of the file I mentioned. I think there may be something wrong with the file.

Can you open other similar files and view the full file?
