Getting Logged off Automatically after varying intervals, how to fix?

Edit - It seems it is getting locked and not logged off. The first thing i have done is to remove the password of this account so that i can go back with a single click.

The laptop in questions keeps logging off the user(the only user account on the laptop) and have to log back in. this happens at varying intervals. sometimes back to back of out of the blue.
recently reinstalled windows and updated all the software.

noticed this after doing the bios update from HP since there was a fix for touch pad functionality.

not sure if this is related but ... the keyboard was acting a little funky as well with it opening the ease of access options when clicking 'U' and opening the pinned programs when using the number keys.

this keyboard issue comes back when the i log back in.... not sure what is going on.

I am fairly certain it is not a virus - freshly installed and scanned with Panda and windows security essentials

    Any help is appreciated

Check for infection, run SFC, establish a Clean Boot, then continue with the other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

Post back a screenshot of Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image.

Is this the original HP factory install, which is the worst possible install of the OS one could have, with the worst-in-the-industry load of bloatware and duplicate factory utilities which interfere with better versions built into the OS? If so then I'd strongly consider doing a Clean Reinstall Windows 7 to go from worst to best in less than a day.

Checked for infections - the computer is clean
SFC - No errors or corruptions
it is default HP install... but i have removed most of the bloatware that came with it. I am not very sure how to install windows without the HP stuff because " Don't know the windows License key" .

There does not seem to be a set pattern to this ... it is just getting locked. I am not sure if this is because of some of the smart keys that are on the keyboard. I am trying to disable them without much success right now.

I have logged into this machine today after putting this question on the forum and it has not locked yet .. been on for 20 mins.

I tried creating multiple logins as well to check if it was user profile corruption .. which it is not it seems coz it happen on all user profiles.

You could make the HP Recovery disks as a backup and then run HP Factory Recovery via the F11 key which sometimes offers a Minimal Recovery option that is nearly as clean as a Clean Reinstall Windows 7.

If Win7 came preinstalled on the PC then it should have a COA sticker on the bottom with a Product Key used for Clean Reinstall Windows 7.

Did you uncheck everything in msconfig>Startup and >Services after hiding all MS Services, except either MSE or Panda (never both) AV?
