It is always a good idea to have your personal data backed up. I back mine up every night on 3 different hard drives. But, yes, it can be done later from an external enclosure, or several other ways.

I don't know about a fair amount of slow down, but a noticeable amount. Yes, keep keyboard and mouse plugged in. I was just talking about the other stuff like Xbox, Ipod and other things like that. But yes, there are no restrictions on what you do with the computer. Do anything you want. Browse, play games, watch movies anything you want to do.

Hello again, update time,

So I turned on Disk Verifier for 24 hours and did not experience a BSOD. However, there were a couple things that I noticed while trying to maintain my normal use of the computer:

-After starting up the verifier, while playing a DVD from my disk driver, the video intermitently began to stutter. This includes both audio and video, but most importantly the audio stuttering sounded very similar to what happens when I get a full lock-up. However, this only happened for the first few hours of use and was not seen afterwards to my knowledge.

-While watching some youtube/livestream videos and trying to load web pages either took an extreme amount of time to load and/or buffering.

-While browsing the internet in general, it seemed the speeds were rubberbanding where for a couple minutes I would experience 'ok' speeds and the following minute would be extremely slow. I'm not sure if this would be due to the verifier.

Since these events are very erratic and I can't seem to reproduce them, would it be advantageous to enable Driver Verifier once I experience another lock-up? I mention this as when these events do happen, they tend to happen in small fluries (sometimes I'll experience 3-4 events in consecutive days).

When I get some time within the next couple of days, I'll uninstall Avira and download MSE upon Layback Bear's suggestions. Anything else you would like to me to check in the meantime?

Thanks for your time. Will check in shortly.

Sorry about that, forgot to attach in my earlier message. Was under the impression that I didn't need to post a dm log, but maybe you are looking for something else aside from dump files .

Have a good day!

Do you have Audiology on that rig? There are no drivers from it.

You also have 'Play Online Viewer' which causes a lot of problems on systems, and you are showing several errors with it. Uninstall it and see if you get any better results.

I'm still lurking watching how things are working out.
santori you are doing a good job following Steve's instruction. Please continue following instruction and maybe the ugly duck will raise it head.
I'm curious what is causing the problem.

Whoops. Thanks about mentioning the PlayOnline Viewer. Forgot to uninstall that a whiles ago. As for Audiology, is that a driver in itself or a program?

Also, I've uninstalled some programs that I'm not using anymore. More recently, Tweakbit which wasn't the greatest to install in the first place. However, after installation it's still showing up in C:\Program Data (see attachment). Is there anyway to get rid of this completely aside from a clean install?

I wouldn't mind doing a fresh install regardless, but I clearly remember having the hard-locks arise within a week of a reformat.
