I have Windows 7 x64 (RTM 7600) and tried this hotfix but "they" sent me for x86 version (in an e-mail).

Send them a reply and advise them of the mistake, so that they can send you the correct link.

I did that, but I got information from MAILER-DAEMON that this e-mail can't be delivered. Than I found a way to download the x64 patch, but it can't be installed. Could somebody just give me the correct hotfix, please ?

Check your PMs. If what you downloaded was x64, why wouldn't it install?

I requested the Hotfix, which I received via e-mail with the following message:

"WARNING This hotfix has not undergone full testing. Therefore, it is intended only for systems or computers that are experiencing the exact problem that is described in the one or more Microsoft Knowledge Base articles that are listed in "KB Article Numbers" field in the table at the end of this e-mail message. If you are not sure whether any special compatibility or installation issues are associated with this hotfix, we encourage you to wait for the next service pack release."

Has anybody used this hotfix, and if so, any known issues?
The problem isn't so serious really, so should I wait for the service pack version, or am I being too cautious?

    add on

This is not a reply. Just an add on to say that I experience the same problem after the fact that I've tried to shut down the computer, which it refuses in the way that it reboots instead of shutting down. After rebooting at my second attempt to shut down I get the annoying "Task host window" and then it finally goes to rest.

Bill is not a fan of mine.
