Renaming Win 7 Pro admin [only user] or adding new user & hiding 1st.

My 2nd wife has a Toshiba Win7 Pro, 64 bit, Satellite notebook, never in a domain. I originally set her up as Admin with no additional users. We want to change or hide her account while adding new admin account before sending/giving pc to my son who would not accept it with her info obviously on the machine. I'm worried about losing losing Win7 Pro[anytime uprade] functionality & Adobe Acrobat9 std & Office 2010 when I make changes? Can I safely do this? I can do have image bkups if I need to revert from changes.

Don`t rename her account, it will mess things up big time, just create another account and delete hers

He should just re install windows when he gets the pc.

I appreciate your response and as I suspected [agree] that renaming could mess up the computer; but I can't do an original reinstall without losing Win 7 anytime upgrade to Pro, and as I have disk images, but not that go back to original pre-install state, [& no recovery partition provided by manuf. to rebuild from] that isn't an option.
I could just create a new user with admin rights, but then I would like to hide or disable my wife's original user account to minimize visibility if I could.

Original install was Win 7 Home Premium.

There are a few utilities that will let you hide the desired admin-level acct, however, anyone can simply use same utilities to discover hidden accts. As a previous poster said: create another account, delete wifey's account.

If I can simply delete wife's admin account after adding new account without losing the Acrobat 9 Std & Office 2010 working for the new user then that is fine. Could I have problems if I also remove her user files, too? I don't know if either Acrobat or Office [the only purchased software] have hard coded [direct] references that could cause issues, even though the software was installed with shared use, rather than just for a particular user? I'm not concerned with preventing him from finding hidden info, I just don't want it to be in his face. If you could tell me a utility that would mask this, that would be useful too. Thank you all for your gracious assistance.

Windows 7's Ultimate Windows Tweaker 2 [from Windows Club] worked for me real well! You can hide wifey's account by disabling it. You can "test" the disabling and see if your Adobe and Office need this account or not. Maybe leave her user files as is, simply disable the account. For those with Win8, both UWT2 and UWT3 work.
