Thanks - no need to duplicate your results for me. I read through the thread looking for stuff and then ask for clarification if I need it - but I do understand the memory testing better with the (A dn B) note

Impatient? Nah, I thought you might be getting frustrated.

Thanks for posting the results Greg requested. I don't want to side track the work you're doing nknow, so this is more of a referenece note to my self:
    11. Check for newer display driver, or roll back to the previous version or try another Windows 7 or Vista driver. Turn off or uninstall the accompanying software package. Driver Install - Device Manager

Can't do this. This happens every time I try. Even after restart https://i.imgur.com/IozT5Fc.png
I came across a different thread with the 7zip error today while looking at things I might help solve. The suggestions were to install a new driver, unfortunately, the other member simply came back and poster "Thanks, it's fixed" without any detail.

So once the memory tests are done, you should look at (hmmmmm no system specs) you mfgr web site to see if there is an updated driver - NOT NOW though

The interesting thing is that NVidia purportedly does not zip their install packages so the question was "Where did you get the driver?" Greg is going to say "Use Windows Update" and that's fine.

After knowing the memory is good (one stick already failed), the crash dumps will provide more info. Hang tight.

If Windows Update doesn't have a driver Win7 prefers, then it's fine to go to Drivers | GeForce and use the Automatic Driver Update to scan your PC and give you the latest driver package.

You have done a lot that we weren't aware of. Work with Bill now who can help zero in on needed tests. I'll be monitoring the thread along with others to jump in if we see something to add.

Please fill in your System Specs in the bottom left hand corner of post.

Every HD test has a flash stick version which might be listed at the links in HD Diagnostic. Did you check the one listed for your version? The Win7 installation media if you dont' have it or a System Repair Disk is provided in Clean Reinstall Windows 7 and can be used to do the accompanying Disk Check as recounted there.

The blue links are tutorials which explain things further and offer links.

Once we see your exact specs we can help find you another installer for your display driver, as it seems yours is failing during extraction. Can you try using Windows Explorer to open it (rightclick file to Open With Explorer) since it seems 7Zip is having problems. Maybe you need to uninstall 7Zip to see.

Just to check: Did you enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3)
then Check for Updates to see if any are pending for Important or Optional. This will release some drivers to be added to the list.
Sorry about that. I've been updating the front page and I guess they're also scattered around the thread.
I don't mean to be rude, but would you mind providing me the download links for that? I can't quite see the website really well since it's not very well formatted and my browser's not reading into the websites really well too. This is how it looks like sometimes https://i.imgur.com/Fu1hgI3.png . Everything's scattered around.

Thank you so much for helping! How should I go about deleting my driver then reinstalling? Would that be the same as removing any other programs? I'll look into going through Windows update.

Also, I've actually just updated my spces. You should be able to see it now. It's taking really long for me to do things on the website because my browser's crashing once every 2 seconds now. I don't know why it's crashing more and more. I'm now typing everything in a text document then posting to the forum really quickly, so I apologize for any bad formatting.

memtest still running? it eats a lot of resources, better to not do anything while it's running.

We'll get to the other stuff after memtest - right?
    Right!

Thanks for updating your specs - it will help.

Nope! I'm not using memtest now. I'm currently trying to update the driver. I was able to extract the driver using winrar and run the setup, but the installer keeps crashing...

I went into devices and printers and saw the icon that is my computer. I then also saw a yellow flag on it. I right clicked it and it has an option to troubleshoot so I clicked it. It says that the "PCI simple communications controller does not have a driver" so I clicked apply fix but it was unable to fix it. Does this have anything to do with it you think?

Also, how do I tell windows update to look for drivers? I've already uninstalled my graphics driver but it hasn't detected anything.

I posted a tutorial showing you how to Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3).

Trace the Hardware Identification on the PCI device driver in Device Manager. I thought you had all your drivers?

Hmmm, with the 'good' memory - how many passes did you run memtest and in how many slots.

I really can't proceed until you've completed the memtest in all slots. I'd be wasting your time if it turns out to be memory or a short on one of the slots.

Here's your last update - 5 hours ago
Memtest for 4 passes with two 8 GB kits (A and B). Tested separately and on different slots.
    1st slot
B, not tested yet, but applications still crashing. I basically tried using the "good" ram in the first slow as suggested by another person from another forum. It still crashes.
    3rd slot
    B encountered 0 errors ; Applications crashing
    2nd slot
    B encountered 0 errors ; Applications crashing
    4th slot
    A encountered 5 errors ; Applications crashing
    B encountered 0 errors ; Applications crashing
What I'd like to see is more like this

    Slot# 1 RAM A
    Slot# 2 empty
    Slot# 3 empty
    Slot# 4 empty
    8 passes - no errors

    Slot# 1 empty
    Slot# 2 RAM A
    Slot# 3 empty
    Slot# 4 empty
    8 passes - no errors

    Slot# 1 empty
    Slot# 2 empty
    Slot# 3 RAM A
    Slot# 4 empty
    8 passes - no errors

    Slot# 1 empty
    Slot# 2 empty
    Slot# 3 empty
    Slot# 4 RAM A
    8 passes - 5 errors

and then the same detail for RAM B

Remember we can't see what you see, we don't know what you know unless you inform us.

I also said to hold off on the driver update (and that Greg would point towards Windows Update - I've worked with Greg on a few threads :))

So before I go any further, let me know how many passes memtest ran on RAM B and verify for me that the tests were executed with only RAM B inserted. I think there was only slot 1 left to test based on the data you posted. The time seems a little short to have run 8 passes though (I could be wrong).

Let me know about the RAM and let Greg know about the driver from Windows Update.

    Thanks,

    Bill

Step 11 of the troubleshooting tut could not be completed - NanoDice posted a screen shot showing the issue.
