Allowing Standard User to run a UAC controlled application

    Hi guys,

Im having this issue on both Win 7 and Win 8. Samsung Network Scan utility has Publisher "unknown". So it prompts UAC every time you want to run it. I want users in our office to use the computers under restricted priviledges - not admin. Is there a way to allow them run this application, but maintain their general priviledges restricted?

    Thanks

I think that this tut would help you accomplish your goal.
User Account Control - UAC - Change Notification Settings

Thanks for answer, but is it possible to turn off UAC for standard users, respectively doesnt that basically give them admin priviledges? Are they still restricted from installing, running software from flash drives, etc?

I think the solution you are posting is the same as this one:
Elevated Program Shortcut without UAC Prompt - Create
which works only when user with admin rights is logged in

UAC turned off for Standard users previously discussed here: Best Practices for User Account Type and UAC?

This solution is possible but it creates a "security hole": Elevated Program Shortcut - Create for Standard User
