winload.exe error when re-installing Windows from USB drive

Hi all,

I've been following the instructions listed on the website below on how to re-install Windows 7 (Home Premium, SP1, 64-bit) on my Toshiba laptop through a USB thumb-drive:
How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc | PCWorld

The "Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool" was giving me problems when creating a bootable USB drive from my .ISO file of Windows 7, so I turned to ImgBurn instead. This seemed to work fine.

When I start up my laptop and try to boot from my USB drive, I get the following error message:
Code:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
File: \windows\system32\boot\winload.exe
Status: 0xc0000001
Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.
I already ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool, without any success.

Any help on what I can do to fix this?

The SevenForums has a tutorial on creating a USB Installation Key Drive at the following link;

USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create

You may find it useful to browse through and see if there is anything that helps. I, personally, haven't used a key drive for install, so I don't have any hands-on advice.
