Utility to Enhance Windows 7 Built-In Add/Remove Programs

Hello there.

Does anybody knows of any utility that enhances the Windows 7 built-in uninstaller with features like remove leftovers and/or registry keys?

I've been using IObit Uninstaller, and is really nice but sometimes feels a little bit slow and also tends to crash/not work properly. I don't usually install heavy on the system software, with a few exceptions, so I wanted to find a small, free, utility that does that.

I don't think you will find anything that enhances the Windows utility. The design would be highly problematic, particularly when you are dealing with a Windows component. Another problem is that it would be OS specific and hardly likely to run on Windows 8 or Windows 10.

The IOBit company and products have a poor reputation with most experienced members of this forum.

I second Revo Uninstaller, been using it for many years without any problems.

The free version of Revo only uninstalls 32 Bit programs.
You need the paid version of Revo to uninstall 64 Bit programs.

I've read some recommendations for Advanced Uninstaller Pro (it's free).

To uninstall security programs i always use the specific uninstaller for that program.

I use CCleaner when i wanna uninstall a program.. and before cc was around i always used the windows add and remove .

I use Revo and CCleaner along with the built-in uninstaller. I do not and will not recommend anything from IOBit or other vendors. Setting Revo is very simple: Just use the Moderate setting and most if not all of the program and registry entries will be gone. Then use CCleaner to remove the rest. Windows7's uuninstaller relies solely on the one provided by the software provider and there are times when there are Registry entries that are very deep and don't get taken out. Paying for an uninstaller is a waste of money and probably will buy you some added bloatware that you don't need.

I don't install / uninstall a lot of programs.
I do periodically create a system backup image, and for any important change i want to test, such as a program install/uninstall.
I can always restore a backup image to undo any unforeseen problems.
