New to here.

Hello all!

Good to be here. I will be scrolling around looking to 'fix' some of my comps. Don't have all the pertinent info as to motherboards and such.
As is: I have a Studio XPS 8100, my wife has a Studio XPS 7100 and my son has an Alienware.
All have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and my wife's and son's have 'crashed'.
Wife's had the white screen with multi-colors on it and now won't boot up, powers on but monitor just gives the "Going to sleep mode"
Son's lost his Audio a couple weeks back so he got the updated drivers, but now his comp won't boot up, just goes to the repair screen which is getting him no where.
Mine had the hard drive fail, so new hard drive and new OS for me.
All are past warranty so I get to look around and try several things.
Looking into buying the Windows 7 repair disc I see online for around $7 for the wife's comp see if that helps.

Anyway this site has alot of good info to help me along the way. I just find it kinda odd our Windows 7s all going down within a couple of weeks of each other and 3 different units.

Thank you for this site.

At this time I am 'reduced' to using an Inspiron B130 XP to cruise the net. looks like XP is still mostly running well lol.

Hmmm......I'd probably be skeptical of that without more details.

I'd start a separate thread for each of the defective PCs whenever you want to attack them.

Do you have a Windows installation disc of any type?

The Alienware has discs but not getting anywhere atm.
My 8100 is a hard drive gone south, will buy new when I can.
Wife's 7100 ended up being the onboard battery. Put in a new one problem solved.

One down two to go.
