How to: Turn off monitor only, but not the open windows

    Hello

Not sure how to formulate it in English, so I will describe

I did installed the latest win 7 update. Since, after few minutes the screen goes off. That is OK

When it come back after I moved the mouse or play with the keyboard, the Windows display is the user selection instead to be directly to the last application that I was working with

    Hope I'm clear enough

Control Panel, Power Options, Change plan settings, Change advanced power settings.
Set Require a password on wakeup to No.

    OK thanks
I think I was having PC crash And that was the reason for the opened windows being closed off. Event viewer did report 8 crash for the last 24h. I did modify the power setting before leaving this morning. PC was running OK when I came back this afternoon

    Thanks for your help
