    PendingDeletes.... won't.

Folder in C:\Windows\winsxs\Temp\PendingDeletes contains 16 files from Jan 10 & 11 that simply do not delete, I have tried the popular remedies ie: install something like Telnet which starts Trusted Installer which in theory should start scavenge process. I have tried running sfc /scannow again but PendingDeletes remain.

My concern is should I need to do a startup repair or sfc to repair corruption they may be blocked from doing so because of "pending" operations.

    Any comments/tips/advice appreciated! :)

I would give the repair off the windows disc a shot if you have a disk available to do so as it wouldnt hurt. If you dont have the disc i would try and re run the sfc /scannow as administrator and see if that does anything to help.

Thanks, I would prefer to leave a repair install as a last resort.

I had these also that could not be deleted...always open in some running process.

Finally deleted them with malwarebytes File Assassin

    Run as administrator
    Mode "delete on windows bootup"
Enter each file in the box, click execute, then enter the next one click execute after each one.
    All gone on reboot!

    Take ownership didn't work.
    MBAM file assassin didn't work.
    Unlocker didn't work.
Finally deleted these with MoveOnBoot: Downloads - MoveOnBoot

If anyone comes across this post looking for an answer I highly recommend Sysinternals' PendMoves and MoveFile :)

This redirects to something else maybe and is gone? It downloads a 50 MB .exe

I have the SysInternals, just not sure how to "use it". The docu is quite sparse.
