Problem searching for files in windows 7 that contain dates

I need to search through files on a windows 7 PC which contain dates in format dd-mm-yyyy, if i wanted to find the date 09-12-1981 it would birng up all the results containing that date but it would also bring up files containing 12-09-1981 in the file name. Another problem is that if i searched 09/09/1981 it would bring up everything in all the dates from 01-09-1981 - 31-09-1981. Is there anyway i can fix this?

Thanks

Can't change files' created and modified dates...
I would swear that I used to be able to click on a file in Windows Explorer and then add or change it's details such as the dates. I may be "misremembering" but I think I could do it at the bottom of the Explorer screen or by rick-clicking, selecting properties and the Details tab. If it was...

Searching through files with Windows 7
I switched from XP to 7 this year. I really enjoyed my time with XP especially because of the layout and I knew I would lose certain features like the way I could so easily search for files like mp3's and videos through my external hard drives. I do extensive film editing professionally, although...

backing up new files with old modified dates
Which batch command and switch should I use to backup a new file with a old (sometimes very old) Date Modified date in a way that avoids backing up files unnecessarily? I've been using xcopy with the /D switch in my backup.bat and just noticed it's missing my new files that have the old dates.

Searching for files with Windows 7 file explorer
Hi, I have been frustrated by the way the Windows 7 search results 'Folder' information is displayed. I often sort search results by the Folder field but with the new way of displaying the information my sorts are not nearly as useful to me as they once were. Previous versions of...
