How to get my customized keyboard back after a pc crash?

    Hello,
After a deadly pc crash I had to replace the hard disk and reinstall all programs.
One thing I cannot get done is how to get my previously customized keyboard layout back.
I downloaded and activated MSKLC again, the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator.
But after that nothing happens: the program cannot load any of the Windows keyboards (I use English-US International by default).
It says it works for 32-bit version, but my previous and current installation were and are 64-bit.
MSKLC apparently worked in my previous installation: I even still have the customized keyboard files in 'my documents'.
But what to do with them?
Or any other solution for customization available?

    Thanks,
    Wim

You should be able to do this via CP / Regions and languages.

    Hi Paul,
I assume you misunderstood my problem. I can select the keyboard from the standard list via the control panel.
But on my previous pc I had MODIFIED my favourite keyboard us-international to add a few symbols that I frequently use.
I did that with the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator MKLC.exe.
I even have (in my documents folder) the source file for that customized keyboard.
But I cannot reinstall it anymore. And MKLC cannot load any keyboard after installation, if I want to use that keyboard as a basis for personalisation/customizing.
    How to do that?

Yes, I wasn't sure of that. Sorry.
