Aero Lag when closing?

Hi,

I'm running an original Windows 7 (I preordered it) and I've updated all graphic drivers, but whenever I want to close a window, Windows Aero lags for a quick second and closes the window, however whenever I minimize a window, it closes down nicely with the effect. Why is this occuring?

My PC Specs:

Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit
3.5GB Ram
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.20GHz
NVIDIA 8400 GS 512MB DDR2

I've updated everything, it gets annoying when it lags when it closes.

It still sounds like a driver issue to me...can you post a link to where the driver you used is?

I used the driver I got off from NVIDIA:

NVIDIA DRIVERS 191.07 WHQL

Before right when I upgraded to Windows 7, that same day I went to the NVIDIA website and attempted to download the Windows 7 version, but they only had Vista. So now I'm re-downloading the appropriate Windows 7 Driver for my 8400 GS..hope this works..

Ok so I tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling the Windows 7 [32bit] version and still no good..what else would you recommend?

Can anyone please still help me out on this this? Does it matter if my monitor is set to 59Hz, even though when I try to change it to 60Hz, it goes back..

My monitor: HP w2207h 22" Native Res: 1680 x 1050

Uninstall the driver, use driver sweeper in safe mode to clean up, reboot back into safe mode and install the driver again. Reboot back into 7. I have this issue too. It might be a glitch for some cards.

Hi, thanks for helping me out. I tried exactly everything you said, and still no luck.. I did happen to go to Best Buy and check out Windows 7 computers, and they all had the same problem! Wow, I can't believe they let this bug slip out..do you think now it's a Microsoft problem or a Graphics card problem?

Ideally, the WDDM 1.1 driver still relies on the gpu, which points to drivers. More than one app can also draw windows on the screen. I'd wait for a driver update. For now type advanced (view advanced settings) and in the control panel options untick animating minimizing and maximizing windows in the performance settings box.
