Windows 7 files/folder text issue that is driving me crazy! Help!

I know this is going to sound odd, I don't know if this is an issue that has been there all along or something that has just popped up, either way I haven't noticed it before and was hoping someone could help me with it.

As you can see the "il" is highlighted orange, this only happens on files or folders in windows, not on any other program.

It either has to be an "il" followed by another letter or just "lll" whenever that combination happens I have a bunch of files and folders text highlighted orange.

I have googled and looked everywhere to see what could be causing this but no answer, so, I am hoping you guys/girls can help me?

I just want to know if I have accidently enabled some feature in windows or how I stop this from happening?

    Many thanks.

I am not seeing any orange highlight there. But as you are saying, you may try this: Display Color Calibration

    Hi,
I do see the discoloration in your screen shot it does look weird
I do not see in it happening on my machines though
Use the link above my signature image to Fill in your system spec's page with 7Forums utility so we might see more info of your machine
Seems like calibration might help as Arc has posted
But could also be a driver/ video card deal too ? thus is why we need more info on the machine,
    Cheers.

I'd ask if the same issue occurs if the window is moved left or right on the screen, could be an issue with the panel itself. I've had to deal with a client's Notebook with a 2" wide vertical strip in the center of the screen that changes the coloring.

I looked at my machine's Explorer listing and I noticed that the "i" and "l" on my machine are farther apart than in your picture, and I have no orange tint. (But I do see the orange tint in your picture). I wonder if the proximity of the letters is causing the optical illusion? Are you using the standard system font?

Have you tried changing the font face or font size?

Hi Guys, thanks for all the help, I actually figured out what it was in the end, it was something to do with clear type text, I reconfigured it and it has now fixed the issue.

Thank you for all the suggestions though.

Clear type tuning is the last step of display calibration. Good to know that you have got rid of your issue.

I would also recommend using and adjusting Clear Type every couple of months.
For some reason I have found that it will change and need reset to your liking.
