    Welcome screen scaling issue

    So
Just installed Win7 x64 in a GPT partition alongside my OEM Win8.1.1 on my new laptop, got all the drivers installed, everything is running relatively smooth as it can be for running a 6 yr old OS on a brand new PC (yes folks, Win7 is *that* old) . I have my scaling set to 200% as my display resolution is 3840x2160, so need it to be at least 200% in order to see anything

But since that scaling setting is only in my user account (although it is the only user account on the PC) , when I initially boot up the computer, the scaling/resolution is off, and it shows up in a box that doesn't fill the entire screen. Once I type in my password and it logs in then it fills the screen. If i were to subsequently lock the computer the scaling/resolution would still be normal since I am already logged in. Its a minor issue but bothersome nonetheless.

    Screenshot attached :)
    Cheers

There's this: How to Set the DPI for the Logon Screen on Windows 7 - The App Compat Guy - Site Home - MSDN Blogs

But would suggest you create a restore point first.

Update - this worked! I just needed to set the value to decimal 192 instead of decimal 120 as in this guys case. Worked a treat! Thanks!
