Things I have noticed on 7 64bit

i have recently put windows 7 64bit on my pc that had 7 32bit and have noticed it has to IE 8 installed on it normal version and 1 that says IE8 64bit same with adobe cs4 master suite does it with photoshop does any 1 know y this is?

Can you clarify your question? I'm having a hard time following it. Are you asking why Microsoft provided a 32 bit and 64 bit version of IE8? Because you can install 32 bit applications in 7 x64, and if they need to use IE8, it would have to use a 32 bit version.

The reason is you have 64-bit Windows 7 installed on your computer.

Check your computer. Right click on My Computer, then click properties.

If you check under the System information, it will tell you it's 64-bit.

64-bit Windows 7 runs a bit differently than 32-bit. Some programs can run faster, like IE and Photo Shop. This only happens if you run them in 64-bit mode, hence the two version that have appeared on your computer.

Also, 64-bit programs are not compatible with all 32-bit add-ons, so if you want to run a 32-bit add-on, such as Flash, you'll need to run the 32-bit version of the program, the one without "-64-bit" in the name.

just wunderd why there was both 32 & 64 Bit versions on there?

I think the main reason is that there is still no Flash player for 64-bit Windows. I have both IE on my taskbar and use 64-bit for normal browsing but if I want to view a video clip I switch to 32-bit. Adobe doesn't seem to be able to get up to speed.

It's for your convenience, that's all. Probably when you run into compatibility problems, in which case you could revert to the 32bit version.
