I would recommend unloading K-Lite and going with Shark007's Windows 7 codec package. Sharks codecs comes with its own "settings app" for x86 and x64 which is essentially a "tweak tool" but more comprehensive and intuitive. You need both if you have an x64 system. Allows you specify which codecs and splitters will be used for which file types, among other things. Very good codecs and tools.
Tip: If you are going to use them, go into the properties of the settings app's .exe, compatibility tab, and set it to always "run as administrator." | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP DV8t quad OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (Retail) CPU i7-Q 720 Motherboard Motherboard Chipset Intel Ibex Peak-M PM55, Intel Lynnfield Memory 6 GB Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GT 230M (1GB) Sound Card IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Monitor(s) Displays 18.4 inch HP Infinity FHD (Samsung 184HT03-001) Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard laptop Mouse Logitech VX Revolution Cooling Zalman NC-2000 notebook cooling pad Hard Drives Hitachi 500GB 7200 rpm (x2)

Does Sharks codecs have any that Kazaa Mega Codec pack doesn't? Can you have both Sharks and Kazaa codecs installed to cover everything, or does one interfere with the other? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway M6827 OS Win 7 Professional 32-bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00 GHz Memory 3GB Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic Vx900 Screen Resolution 1280x1024 Hard Drives 150GB Hard Drive |

I was just about to check. In K-Lite Basic, load Haali Media Splitter and set the thumbnail option to yes, and the offset time to 8000 milliseconds. Reboot. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio Z46GDU OS Windows 7 Ultimate x86-64 CPU P9700@2.8GHz 1066MHz FSB Motherboard Sony branded Memory 6GB DDR3 1066MHz Graphics Card 9300M GS 256MB Dedicated (Speed) + Intel4500MHD (Stamina) Sound Card Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays 13.1' WXGA Screen Resolution 1600x900 Hard Drives 320GB 7200RPM w/ 16MB cache Internet Speed 1MB/s |

Shark uses the same method for a second quicker. K-Lite Basic is only 4.3MB anyway. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio Z46GDU OS Windows 7 Ultimate x86-64 CPU P9700@2.8GHz 1066MHz FSB Motherboard Sony branded Memory 6GB DDR3 1066MHz Graphics Card 9300M GS 256MB Dedicated (Speed) + Intel4500MHD (Stamina) Sound Card Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays 13.1' WXGA Screen Resolution 1600x900 Hard Drives 320GB 7200RPM w/ 16MB cache Internet Speed 1MB/s Win7 doesn't show MKV thumbnails correct problems?
