    Windows 7 Black Desktop

Hello all I currently have a bit of an issue in that my whole desktop is black. I cannot see anything on it except my mouse cursor. The only way I was able to go onto the internet was to start task manager and start a new task with firefox from there.

This has happened several times before and it takes a long time to fix itself, I am sure there is an easier and faster method to fix this. I have a screen shot below and the two windows open in bottom corner is just firefox and task manger.

Any help surrounding this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Hello Phinagin, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It sounds like you may need to restart explorer.

While in Task Manager, and start the explorer process from File (menu bar) -> New Task. :)

    It's at "C:\Windows\explorer.exe".

You should be able to run it from Task Manager like you did with Firefox, but start explorer.exe instead.
