Unable to run updates, error 8024000E, sfc failing

New XPS13 (originally 8.1) was loaded with Win7x64 enterprise. Sporadic BSOD's when running Outlook/Adobe Acrobat Pro, analyzing memory dumps resulted in "was not able to determine the cause of the problem" issue. Tried running sfc /scannow, gor the "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation." message. Tried to run it in the safe mode (per instructions found at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833) , got the "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service". Rebooted the system and attempted the sfc again, the verification was 100% completed, but "windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them".

I have the log available if someone would like to look at it.
Help would be tremendously appreciated. I would prefer to avoid wiping the drive, if possible at all.

Ran scandisk /r several times, too; no problems were found during the scan.

Attached are some of that system's dump files; please change their extensions to *.dmp before looking at their content.

Again, may thanks to anybody who might be interested in helping me out.
