Tying the display power settings with the lock/unlock functions.

I've just installed a "GateKeeper" (www.gkchain.com) which locks/unlocks the desktop based on my proximity to my desktop PC.

It works beautifully, but is a little odd when my display has gone into power saving mode whilst the desktop is locked... I approach the PC, and the desktop unlocks, and is ready for use, but the display stays blank as it is in power saving mode. I have to move the mouse (or press a key, perhaps) before I can see what I'm doing.

Is there some way to automatically bring the display out of power saving mode whenever there's a transition from locked to unlocked? I suspect this won't be possible, as there's probably no API for the power-saving mechanism. I certainly can't find any settings in power management that would control this behaviour.

No settings in GateKeeper? You can ask them if no one here knows.

Since the Gatekeeper software installs its own driver, I'm assuming that it could be enhanced to include control of the display power state. But this would only be implemented if I could persuade† the Gatekeeper coders to enhance their driver.
If I can find a Windows mechanism to tie the display power setting to the state of the desktop (locked/unlocked) then I could implement this immediately.

That's why I started here. I'm not anticipating success here though. Requesting an enhancement to the Gatekeeper driver is "Plan B".
