Hide user subfolders in Windows Explorer

Hi! I use a separate HDD to store all my data. However, I still have the C:\users\username folder, I tried to change this to the Data drive but that didn't work.

This is not a big problem, because I changed all the library locations and use Xplorer2 anyway. However, sometimes I still have to use the Windows Explorer, and then the username with all the subfolders is visible, which clutters up the screen.

I'd like to know if it's possible to hide all the subfolders from this user folder displayed in Windows Explorer. See image. Maybe it would be possible to hide the complete username in Windows Explorer?

    Thanks, Daan

    Hi Daan,

Sounds like you might like to set the Hidden file attribute on some of these folders.

That doesn't work. The system still shows them.

Ps show hidden files is off, of course.

One easy way to do this would be to install Clover. It replaces WE as the file manager, giving a nice tabbed Chrome interface, and once you collapse a folder it stays persistently collapsed until expanded.

I don't use Windows Explorer, but when using other programs (any program really), saving and opening files still gives me this cluttered view of the username.

Hey, you seem to messed up something while changing user folder. How did you get user folder in left pane?

Did you use User Folders - Change Default Location?

Which program is in the screenshot? looks like explorer but you say you don't use it, confused :)

Hey mate, I guess I found what you have done after trying some settings :)

    Open Windows Exploerer
On upper left expand Organize (Organiseren)
    Select Folder and Search options

    Down in Navigation Pane
    - Uncheck Show all folders

    Hope this helps
