Malfunctions while playing games, specifically mouse + keyboard

Hello, I am new to the forums. I couldn't find anything on the situation, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I bought a custom built gaming computer with an AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series GPU, an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz Processor, 6.00 GB RAM, single Hard Drive with 297GB space, and my motherboard is unknown. But this problem only started to arise after I've been playing some of my Steam games.

Now, what used to happen was that Windows Media Center started to randomly pop up from time to time, which got moderately annoying, and rarely would my keys start to malfunction and do weird stuff. But after I disabled WMC completely, this "keyboard malfunctioning" problem arose more and more often, the worst being when I play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. What happens is, occasionally (or usually ) my keys will start to break down in function and do other stuff. Pressing esc minimizes windows, and all the keys start to have other annoying functions, which means I am unable to type anything whatsoever. Not only that, but it also affects my mouse as well. Clicking on applications in the taskbar asks me if I want this program to have permission to have access to my computer, scrolling changes the size of icons on my desktop, clicking on YouTube links makes a whole new tab, the list goes on and on, and this has gotten EXTREMELY frustrating for the past few days. This problem only started to arise and fluctuate as I have disabled WPC. Is there something wrong with my hardware, my drivers, or my computer in general?

If this isn't enough information, please say so. Thanks in advance.

A few things...

- Have you scanned your machine recently for malware? Scan it with MalwareBytes in addition to your regular anti-malware program: Malwarebytes | Free Anti-Malware Detection & Removal Software

- Have you tried a different keyboard?

- Have you disabled anything else recently, or made any edits to the registry?

- Did this problem start happening after you installed some new software?

- Are all of your drivers up to date? Including keyboard drivers?

Hmm seems like your CTRL key is getting stuck from some of the symptoms you wrote.
Try to do stuff while CTRL is pressed and see if they are the same.

I would still scan with MBAM as suggested.
And try with another keyboard.

Press the CTRL keys swiftly few times when this happens (try the right if left doesn't work)
Maybe sticky keys are being activated? Try holding down CTRL for 5-10 seconds to see if it will activate.

Just checked sticky keys in ease of control, try pressing SHIFT 5 times in a row and see if it will activate.

CTRL isn't the issue, at least I don't think. I scanned with MBAM, found and destroyed threats, still no fix. I don't happen to have any spare keyboards lying around either. And it's not Sticky Keys, I disabled that a long time ago.

I guess you can install one of the free keyloggers available on the net. If it registers anything odd you would know keyboard is bad. You can also remove keyboard when this happens and see if mouse will correct.

A basic keyboard should be $5-10 or even free from a neighbor/friend.
