I wouldn't worry about it since it's already not showing like you wanted.

I agree Brink, but isn't it strange that the desktop was showing W10 icon, to remove it uninstalled the update and on reboot got it hidden.

On this which I turned on after some days have the update but no W10 notification......

That's the reason I asked.......may be would show after a few days.........so before it shows to do the same on it..........or forget it for now?

    Thanks again.

It may, but double check the options in the tutorial below to make sure that they are all reversed on your PC to see if one may still be causing it to not show. :)

    Thanks,

In taskschd.msc it is enabled, should I disable it here or uninstall the update as done earlier, reboot and hide the update?

I'm not sure why you are wanting to get it to show to only not have it show again.

Brink sorry to confuse you it's the other machine that am talking about, which I powered on after a few days, has the update but won't show the W10 icon.

My question was should I do the same for it too, that I did a couple of days back for my desktop, though strangely isn't showing the icon.

In taskschd.msc has the gwx enabled, update is there haven't uninstalled and hidden it.

    Hope is clear now.

    Thanks.

In that case, yes to do the same to see if it may help on that PC as well.

About the time this W10 icon popped up, my startup time increased by three minutes using Glary Utilities timer although you can tell that it's that long. I was about ready to restore a backup image but decided to uninstall KB3035583. The needed reboot right after the removal was three minutes faster or normal again.

To double check, I powered down for a period of time, powered up at 30-40 seconds or normal . The next and ever since that one normal startup, I'm back to extra three minutes again.

I notice that the W10 icon is still showing in the notification list but gone from the tray. Any comments.

I'm on a dual-boot with W10TP and I've tried a clean boot from both OSs. Both have resulted in the need to restore a backup image. It seems that a clean boot doesn't work on a dual-boot system at least on mine.

You can`t dual boot windows 10, it does not play well with others.

You can, but there are things you have to do to each OS, not worth the aggravation, just use 1 OS or the other.
