I thought I had all of the proper updates installed. I don't know.

Yes, the offer to get the free upgrade to Win 10 is good for 1 year.

I have the offer to reserve a copy, but I'm not going to reserve a copy now.
I plan to update this OS to Win 10, but i will wait at least 3-6 months after the initial release.
I'm sure there will be a lot of changes and fixes during that time.
I would rather start with a "more stable" version, than the initial version, and applying the updates.

This W7 OS is working fine, so all i have to do is be patient.

The GWX icon is on there, so I am not understanding why it's not showing up in my taskbar.

The GWX icon is on WHERE ?
Where do you see it, if not on the taskbar.

Open Windows Update and see if you get a window where you can reserve a copy.

That's where the GWX is located.

Did you click on the arrow to see all the icons in the Taskbar Notification area ?

You have to check if you have the updates installed, I gave you the list.

Doubt it, you probably have to reserve it, do you have all the proper updates installed ?

Jesse, you can not have the Preview installed and then upgrade to Windows 10.

Windows 10 will only be a free upgrade to those that have Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 installed.

This is my list of updates not to install, if you wanted to upgrade to Windows 10 then, they should be installed.

I have no Windows 10 icon and that`s how I want it :)

There are certain ones that deal with Windows 10, I`m not going to look each and every one up again.
Other members will know which ones you have to install to get the Windows 10 update icon.
I don't see any of those updates listed. I guess I need to install them. I don't know why they didn't come via Windows Update.
