    video card do not support transparency


    I used to have transparency before i reformat my laptop, I tried to troubleshoot it but still i'ts not working. It says, "The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM). Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver."

    need help please. thanks!

    Hey and welcome to SevenForums!
    Can you go into Safe Mode right-click personalize and find Windows 7 Basic after you've found that click on it and restart in normal mode.

    What Windows 7 did your computer come with?

    Where and how did you get Windows 7 Ultimate and did you install Windows 7 need updates including SP-1?

I got this error after i used the troubleshooter in my laptop. I was surprised to find my screensaver not working with the message "the screensaver can't run because it requires a newer video card or one thats compatible with Direct3D".
