Computer hanging up on login welcome screen after power trip

So yesterday we had a power strip that our computer was plugged into trip. Since then I am unable to log into the profile that was logged in when the power surge occurred. I get to the log-in screen and enter the credentials and it just takes gets hung up on the welcome screen. If it finally makes it through i get an error message about files missing and no work being saved, but it isn't up for long enough to copy it down. I log in with different credentials and no problems at all. I use the primary credentials from the problem computer on a different unit and I get in no problem. I feel like something got messed up with the local files for these credentials but am at a loss on how to solve.

You can create a new account and copy-paste your user/data files. May need to take ownership later.
