Windows 10 Version

I have Windows 7 Home meaning I would receive the 10 Home version for free. At what point is this determined? If I were to upgrade to 7 Pro, would I still be eligible for 10 Pro. I've already used the tray icon to reserve my copy. Couldn't find this answer anywhere.

If you`ve already reserved it you`ll get Home, you should have upgraded 1st.

But you can always cancel the reservation, upgrade to Pro, then try again.

There is no reason to rush for windows 10.

Thanks for the quick response. I didn't know about the cancel reservation until you mentioned it. Thanks for that too. I'll give it a try.

There will also be something called "Pro Pack", for $99.

I assume this would allow you to upgrade 7 Home to 10 Home and then pay the $99 to upgrade from 10 Home to 10 Pro. Or maybe you can go directly from 7 Home to 10 Pro in one step, without formally upgrading 7 Home to 10 Home.

It's just another way to get from 7 Home to 10 Pro, rather than paying for the upgrade from 7 Home to 7 Pro before attempting the "free upgrade" to 10 Pro.

Last I checked, it was $89 to use Anytime Upgrade to move from 7 Home to 7 Pro.

As far as I know, the Anytime Upgrade method or the Pro Pack method will both have the same final result---10 Pro. With a $10 price difference.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I might want to upgrade from Home to Pro myself, due to the former's lack of control over "updates" in Win 10, but I haven't decided yet as I don't know how troublesome the lack of control might prove to be.
