Forgot Windows 7 admin password: Tried many trcks without effect

    Is the one method you tried in your original post similar to this? User Account Password - Change from WinRE

    Yes something similar to that using on screen key board.
    However, I couldn't see or copy/replace the contents of my PCs drive
    when typed "C:" at the prompt, it said "the drive is not ready"

    That tutorial (and others) should mention that the drive letter often times changes.

    See step 4 in this tut.

    Try using D in place of C.

    Use this guide, User Account - Reset Password in Windows 7 I personally used Hiren's Boot CD to reset my password which i forgot a month ago i think.

    I have always had success removing passwords with the two software's listed below:

    1. Windows Password Unlocker
    2. Hiren's Boot CD

    Do some research online on how to use and where to get the software's from.

    The shortcut has an extra character at the end breaking it.
