    Lost Formatted Disk

I have an HP desktop with a 1TB Personal Media Drive (USB). I lost all the data and W7 says the drive is unformatted. Is there a way to recover the data from this "unformatted" disk? Thank you

Don't panic and wait until Jumanji takes a look at your case. Until then do this (copied from another post of Jumanji):

Install Partition Wizard free. Choose your 1TB instead of 3TB mentioned in quote.

Launch PW and post a screenshot.

Then on the left pane click on Partition Recovery Wizard > Next > Choose your Seagate 3TB external to recover > Next > Full Disk > Next > Quick scan >Next.

After QuicK Scan completes you will get a Window showing the found partitions. Post the screenshot of it.

Double click on that partition/s also and show me the files.

You may then close the explorer, click on the Cancel tab to close the Window and then close PW. ( You may run Quick Scan again if needed.)

Wait for further instructions after I see the screenshot.

I was expecting you to post the screenshot.

If you have used Partition Recovery Wizard in Partition Wizard, if PRW was successful in finding the "lost/deleted" partitions, you will be able to rewrite the Partition Table and that should restore your drive in toto as it existed before and nothing will be lost. There is no individual file/folder recovery here.

How were you " able to recover what appears to be the files " ? Please explain what exactly you did. That statement is very confusing.

Post a screenshot of how your problem drive appears now in Partition Wizard. ( Please remove all other external drives/pendrives to avoid confusion.)

Using "Minitool Partition Wizard" and selecting "Partition Recovery Wizard" (left side of Minitool screen) I did retrieve all my files with the exception of photo and video files.

Using Wondershare I retrieved all my photo and video files.

I was not able to provide screenshot (don't know how).
