After last Microsoft update, Win 7 won't hibernate

I have my Win 7 box set to sleep after 15 minutes and hibernate after 30, with "wake timers" disabled. After a recent Microsoft update (and subsequent restart), it won't hibernate automatically anymore. I have checked all the Power settings and none have changed from what I have described. It can still be manually hibernated.

Have others experienced this? How does one troubleshoot something such as this?

You can perhaps System Restore to a prior date and hide that update.

If that doesn't help what always works for me is in this list for troubleshooting Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems.

You can test each fix by setting timeouts to 1 minutes for sleep and Hard drive, and 2 minutes for Hibernate. Then wait 3-4 minutes to see if each works. Don't forget to set them back after you fix it.

Greg, what you linked is same as I did. Why is yours (or mine) named differently I have no idea. Are you changing what name is displayed on purpose? I just copy paste the address.

Just noticed that. Thanks, GokAy. I'll edit the name now. I do often change the names of some links so I can drag them inline easier, but doesn't seem necessary here.
