Disable libraries registry hack not working (entirely)
I am not any newbie when it comes to reg files. I use them, view them, edit them etc. a few I used in torrents for activation etc. I used the disable libraries reg file and it would work flawlessly on every Windows 7 machine I had. ...until I got one with 64-bit. I go here to obtain the file because the one on my external drive wasn't working. I assumed that there is something new that needed to be done because of some MS update. I search around for more information and found additional steps here about taking ownership of the registry key. but still that didn't work. I then searched this forum with no dice. I opened the reg file using the 'edit' context menu option just to see if I could figure out how to manually accomplish this task. still no dice. I am wondering if there is something else I need to do on a 64-bit based machine that isn't covered. or a better manual way of doing so. the registry hacks on the internet only disable them from the start menu, task bar, and some other open windows but windows like 'save file', 'open file', 'file upload' etc. in various applications including windows explorer itself still show the libraries. The 'include in library' is still present in all windows explorer folders. Now it's just harder to access libraries unless an app is trying to save or open a file. I want it removed completely. it seems only partially removed and only partially for several months. I could never figure out how to remove it completely. Please help direct me to a fix, thank you
