Windows 7 installer service could not be accessed

I have tried all the suggestions I can find, including the ones listed here 2+ years ago.
I tried MS's repairs, the unregister, etc.
    Any ideas?

    Have you tried https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2642495?

You can also try to repair with if above fails. http://www.tweaking.com/content/page...ll_in_one.html

If all above fail, make a new user account and log in with it. See if that will work.

    Thanks

I did try the 'microsoft way' first. Nothing has worked as of yet. I will attempt the 'tweak' tomorrow or Friday. Will let you know the results. I'm bulling my way through this as a distraction. I think your idea about deleting and adding a new account will work also. Thanks for the speedy response

logged out and back in as administrator not on the domain. Installed the software (for all users), then logged off and back on as the user. There is was. Created a shortcut on the desktop, user is happy, I am happy, hope this helps someone else be happy too.

Eh, is this a company machine? And a standart user account? :)

Maybe you just needed to right click and "Run as Administrator".
