Eh, I meant upload the sfcdetails.txt, it should be 1MB at most. Search for it in Windows folders, it should have been on your desktop though.

This is a single line command (revised it to make compatible with spaces in user names, hopefully!):
Code:
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >"%userprofile%\desktop\sfcdetails.txt"
Copy and paste in command prompt (right click - paste)

Is your Windows up-to-date?

Get the DM Log Collector and run it as described in the tutorial - Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

Attach the report here please.

I'll post a fix protocol when I can find time - a couple may need some research to find the correct versions

I've uploaded a file - fbaaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel'sOneDrive

Please download and save it.
Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...

Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract

Close all windows it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)

Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'

Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt

At the prompt type

DIR C:\fbaaa

hit the enter key- if you get a 'Not Found' error try

DIR D:\fbaaa

or

DIR E:\fbaaa

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>)into the following command...

XCOPY <drive>:\fbaaa <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

(e.g. XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time) and when the prompt returns, type

EXIT

and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt

then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply - you'll need to copy it to the desktop, then zip the copy for upload

(I got lucky - had all the files to hand!)

You use the template above that line! - the wfire line is merely an example!

Windows Explorer freezes when launching programs
The OS is actually Windows Server 2008 R2, but it's essentially the same as Windows 7, so I hope no-one minds there. Anyway, whenever I try to launch a program from within Windows Explorer (be it from the Taskbar, the Start Menu, or by double-clicking on a program in a Computer window) nothing...
