Delete the volume, the space becomes 'unallocated'. Then right click on the drive and extend.

It is supposed to say unallocated space not free space. Try deleting with partition wizard free. What was it used for before?

Windows can only extend basic volumes into contiguous space after the existing volume.
You'll have to move the free space to be immediately after the volume you want to extend into it - which will require 3rd-party software.

I thought he was trying to extend F

For E, you can use Move/Resize feature of Partition Wizard free.
