    Search INSIDE of files


    Hi,

    I have Windows 7

    Is there a way to search INSIDE of files?
    How about searching INSIDE of files located on a network share?

    In Windows Explorer, Organize > Folder and Search options.

    inside files dor what? there isnt much clear text for you to search.

    Thanks Gary - That's exactly what I was looking for.

    zigzag - I have a couple of thousand plain text files (.txt) in which I search the contents. Searching content also includes Word, Excel and other documents which I also search on a regular basis.

I tried searching for files on a CD with a specific extension but nothing came up even though I can find some of the files manually it would be a pain to search every zip rar or cab file for a specific extension.
